In the mid 90s HECATE ENTHRONED and Cradle of Filth represented the elite of British Black Metal, both very similar in their symphonic melodic style, but only CoF became popular. Anyway, HECATE ENTHRONED's "The Slaughter of Innocence..." from 97 is one of my favourites of that decade. And today, listening to their latest release "Embrace of the godless Aeon", I have to admit that they still know how to perform excellent, dramatic black metal with big emotions and a clear sound! A masterpiece!
